Los Angeles-based, New Jersey-raised singer-songwriter Ally Salort has released her debut EP, Change of Plans via Disruptor Records/RCA Records. The project offers a fresh, emotionally charged take on love, self-reflection, and resilience, all delivered through Ally’s signature alt-pop sound and raw, unfiltered lyricism.
Change of Plans is a compelling collection of previously released singles, “Tattoo (Selective Memory),” “Horror Movie,” “Before & After,” and “Pretty Face,” complemented by new editions of “Swiss Army Knife” and “Any Way I Can.” The EP further establishes Ally’s distinct voice and emotional depth. Through vivid storytelling and sharp self-awareness, the tracks explore the tension between remembering pain and romanticizing the past. Both nostalgic and defiant, Change of Plans explores love, heartbreak, and self-discovery, reminding us that walking away can be necessary and growth often means embracing change.
On the EP, Ally shares: “‘Change of Plans’ felt like the perfect title to describe the emotional detour this project takes you through – excitement, confusion, heartbreak, and, eventually, clarity and closure. It’s a phrase that I find fits this period of my life as a young artist (and just as a person in general) of trying to understand myself – thinking I’ve got it all mapped out until something along the way inevitably rewrites the route. Change of Plans is a reminder to give yourself the freedom to be a walking contradiction. It’s grace for the mess and the soundtrack to all sides of yourself.”
To celebrate the release of her debut EP, Ally will headline her first-ever shows this August, performing in Los Angeles on August 14 at the Moroccan Lounge, and in New York City on August 20 at the Mercury Lounge. She’s also set to perform at Austin City Limits on October 12, marking another exciting milestone in her rapidly growing career.
