American rapper Paris Jones suffered a great loss 6 years ago when his son Zephaniah died of complications during childbirth. For the pain of his son’s loss, he released his fifth studio album, titled Zephaniah’s Book of Trees.
The musician spoke a bit about the idea behind the new song “Atlantic White Cedar“. “It has several different beats, lyrics, and subject matter. Seemingly no direction, but with consistency at the same time regarding who I am. Almost like someone who has been in an accident. Like I know my name and who I am. I even know my wife and kids’ names, yet my thoughts are not all the way coherent. That’s shock, that is Atlantic White Cedar.”
