New Jersey-raised, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Ally Salort has officially released her latest single, “Housekeeping,” via Disruptor Records/RCA Records. The track serves as an upbeat yet deeply introspective reflection on the difficult decision to move on from a past relationship, capturing the quiet hope that follows the process of emotional decluttering.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Salort explains, “Housekeeping is a fun emotional pop song for moments when you need to metaphorically declutter. For getting that one person out of your system that’s been there way too long. Letting go is so tricky and I just hope the listener feels like I’m right there with them, holding their hand through it.”
“Housekeeping” arrives as a continuation of the artistic evolution Salort showcased on her previous releases, including the vulnerable “Finish Line,” the reflective “I’ve Never Met Her,” and the sharp, self-aware “We’re Not Friends.” These tracks have collectively demonstrated a newfound confidence in her songwriting, further cementing her reputation for immersive storytelling.
The momentum behind Salort’s career has been building steadily since the release of her debut EP, Change of Plans, last summer. That project introduced fans to her layered emotionality through standout tracks like “Tattoo (Selective Memory)” and “Horror Movie.” Following the EP, Salort successfully headlined shows in New York and London and delivered a memorable performance at Austin City Limits 2025.
Currently, Salort is reaching a major milestone in her career, serving as support for Charlie Puth on his North American tour. The run of dates, which began in April, provides a platform for her to share her infectious pop energy with larger audiences than ever before. As she continues to shape a pop identity entirely her own, fans can catch her on the road through mid-June.
