Rising country singer-songwriter Wesko has shared an inspired cover of the Bruce Springsteen classic “I’m On Fire,” available now. With reverence and respect, he puts his own stamp on this timeless entry from the American songbook, paying homage to the original by channeling its spirit with a fresh, modern fire. The track is taken from his forthcoming EP, Familiar Spirits, set for a May 29th release via Warner Records/underscore works recordings.
Regarding the release, Wesko commented, “Bruce Springsteen is one of the greatest songwriters of our time, in my opinion. So it felt right to cover ‘I’m on Fire,’ just as a tribute to one of my favorite artists of all time, with my own spin on it. Here’s to you, Bruce!”
In this rendition, Wesko slows down the tempo and strips back the production, spotlighting the powerful lyrics and that indelible melody. Acoustic guitar complements his heartfelt delivery on the verses as he captures the intensity of the track’s refrain. This release follows his recent single “Lies,” which has been gaining significant traction among his growing fanbase.
Wesko is set to perform various shows throughout the spring and summer, both as a solo act and in support of Warren Zeiders. He is also scheduled to appear at CMA Fest on June 7 at the Good Molecules Reverb Stage.
