The The Rolling Stones have officially lifted the curtain on Foreign Tongues, the new album they began teasing last month. The 14-track project is set to arrive on July 10 via Capitol Records. Fans can look forward to the album cover, designed by artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn, and the lead single, “In the Stars.”

The band sparked significant intrigue regarding their return in April by distributing mysterious posters throughout Camden Town, London, which promoted their fabled “Cockroaches” pseudonym. Subsequent reports in the London Times revealed that a single titled “Rough and Twisted” was slated for an April 11 release as a limited-edition, white-label vinyl exclusive. A secretive Cockroaches website provided GPS coordinates for independent record stores that carried the exclusive pressing.

The upcoming project will be helmed by producer Andrew Watt, who previously worked on the band’s 2023 release, Hackney Diamonds, and the latest Paul McCartney album.

“It was a very intense few weeks recording Foreign Tongues,” Mick Jagger said in a statement. “We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could. I like the room there as it’s not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.”

Keith Richards added, “The Foreign Tongues album has a continuity from Hackney Diamonds and it was great to be working in London again, and to have that London vibe around us. It was a month of concentrated punch. To me, it’s all about the enjoyment of it.”
