The Midnight return to the world of their 2025 album Syndicate with a cinematic new installment, Syndicate (Deluxe), arriving Friday, May 15 via Ultra Records. The new edition expands the band’s fifth studio album, layering in club-ready remixes, cinematic collaborations, and stripped-back demos that reveal the bones beneath the neon.

Leading the rollout is “Love Is an Ocean (Chromeo Remix),” an uptempo rework that trades in the original’s slow-burn emotion for a more electrifying cadence. Chromeo injects their signature funk into the track, tailoring it for the dancefloor without losing the ache at its core.

“Syndicate was obviously a big record, but there were even more songs than what we originally included. Our fans have always loved diving even deeper, and we’re happy to be able to include these demos of tracks that aren’t on the original album.” — The Midnight

Built on the “apocalypse pop” storyline that defines Syndicate, the deluxe edition revisits the album with additional perspective. The release pairs the full original record with a second disc that includes “Love Is an Ocean (Chromeo Remix),” alongside “Runaways (Driver405 Remix)” and the darker, more cinematic “Last Night in Paris (feat. Carpenter Brut).” A series of demos — “Infinite,” “Against The Dark,” and “’Til The Stars Come Out” — round out the project with a more stripped-back look at the songwriting behind the band’s signature blend of pulsing synth pop.

The Midnight are currently on their Time Machines headline tour, a North American run supporting Syndicate that brings their cinematic live show to theaters and clubs across the U.S. and Canada. With direct support from rising indie-pop duo New Constellations, the shows translate the band’s synth-driven sound into a full-scale live experience, known for its widescreen production, live instrumentation, and immersive atmosphere.
