Independent breakthrough artist Matt Hansen is back with a new single “Same Time,” the latest off his anticipated debut album Orchid, arriving Spring 2026. The release continues a remarkable rise that Hansen has built without traditional label support, cultivating a devoted global fanbase of 6 million monthly Spotify listeners, 3 million TikTok followers, and more than one billion streams across his catalog to date.
The long-awaited project will bring together many of the fan favorites that fueled his growth, including “Something to Remember” (300M streams), “LET EM GO” (300M), “yellowstone” (50M), and “DON’T LOOK BACK”, as well as recent singles “SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN” and “COMPASS,” the latter of which landed in the Top 12 on Spotify’s New Music Friday. About the highly-anticipated album, Matt shares, “‘Orchid’ is an album about loving too deeply, losing yourself, finding the courage to leave and learning that healing can make space for something healthier to grow. I think of that fragile kind of love like an orchid. We pour everything into it, believing devotion can keep it alive, until we realize the conditions were never meant for it to bloom.”
Hansen first broke through with raw, stripped-down covers of 90s and early 2000s classics like “Yellow” and “Iris” which resonated deeply on TikTok, where he now boasts over 3 million followers. That organic connection translated into a breakout original catalog and a commanding live presence, with Hansen headlining sold-out tours across three continents, opening for artists including Teddy Swims, Lauv, Train, and Alec Benjamin, and most recently wrapping a sold-out Australian headline tour.
