Acclaimed alt-pop duo Daisy Grenade are making their voices heard with their electrifying rendition of No Doubt’s chart-topping classic, “Hella Good,” available everywhere via DCD2/Fueled By Ramen. A portion of all proceeds from the release will benefit the Center for Reproductive Rights, a legal advocacy organization dedicated to protecting bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom.
“Our heavy cover of the early 2000’s No Doubt banger ‘Hella Good’ delivers on every level,” shares the duo. “Every time you hear this song, it begs for heavy guitars, so we gave it to you! This cover comes at the perfect time, we’re all looking for a bit of that early aughts nostalgia through a fresh new lens. Additionally, we’re donating a portion of the proceeds from this release to the Center For Reproductive Rights… because it’s important ;)”
The girls will continue their philanthropic efforts throughout their debut headline run, Daisy Grenade Has So Much To Say (The Tour), which gets underway May 19 at Thunderbird Café & Music Hall in Pittsburgh, PA. Traveling throughout the United States, the girls will bring their infectious energy to historic stages like the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, and a now sold-out Bowery Ballroom show in New York, with support on all dates from Vienna Vienna. $1 from every ticket sold will benefit the Let’s Give A Damn Foundation, an organization that empowers young creatives globally to use their platforms for advocacy. Tickets are selling out quickly—for complete details and ticket information, please visit daisygrenade.com.
“Hella Good” marks the latest in a seemingly non-stop hot streak of singles from Daisy Grenade, including their reimagined take on the Wicked classic, “For Good.” The song made its debut late last year during Daisy Grenade Does Whatever the F*ck They Want, a sold-out holiday spectacular at NYC’s Joe’s Pub that saw the duo joined by such very special guests as Adam Kantor, Cassadee Pope, and Katerina McCrimmon.
Last autumn saw the release of the duo’s emotionally charged “Good Luck (Wish You Hell).” Produced by 2x GRAMMY® Award-nominee WZRD BLD (Twenty One Pilots, Lil Peep, Bailey Zimmerman), the evocative power ballad was met favorably by fans and press alike, with Melodic Magazine raving, “The track showcases the full extent of (Daisy Grenade’s) dynamic range as vocalists like never before.”
“Good Luck (Wish You Hell)” was in turn preceded by the infectious summer anthem, “Don’t Sweat It,” produced by Andrew Goldstein (blink-182, Addison Rae, Reneé Rapp). Accompanied by a “sparkly-sinister” official music video, the track was named by Rolling Stone as one of its “Songs You Need To Know,” and lauded by Ones To Watch as “alt-pop perfection.”
