Independent singer/songwriter Matt Hansen is back with his new single “SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN,” the latest release off his forthcoming debut album ORCHID, arriving Spring 2026. The track follows heartfelt single “COMPASS,” which recently landed in the Top 10 on Spotify’s New Music Friday, continuing a remarkable rise that Hansen has built entirely independently. Without traditional label support, he has cultivated a devoted global fanbase, sold out headline tours across three continents, and surpassed a billion streams.

“‘SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN’ tells the story of a relationship caught in transition where love, loss, and self-discovery exist all at once,” Matt explains. “It explores the space where you’re still connected, but already starting to change and the way love reshapes you, even after it’s gone.”

The forthcoming debut project will bring together many of the songs that fueled this growth, including fan favorites “Something to Remember” (300M streams), “LET EM GO” (300M), “yellowstone” (50M), and “DON’T LOOK BACK”, alongside new material that further sharpens his emotionally-driven, universal songwriting. Stay tuned for more details to come, including the full track listing and official release date, to be announced soon.

Hansen first broke through with raw, stripped-down covers of 90s and early 2000s classics like “Yellow” and “Iris” which resonated deeply on TikTok, where he now boasts over 3 million followers. That organic connection translated into a breakout original catalog and a commanding live presence, with Hansen headlining tours across North America, Europe, and Australia, opening for artists including Teddy Swims, Lauv, Train, and Alec Benjamin, and most recently wrapping a sold-out Australian headline tour. With his debut album on the horizon, “SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN” signals the beginning of a breakthrough year for Matt Hansen, as he continues to prove that independent artistry and authentic storytelling can captivate audiences around the world.
