Rolling Stone makes its anticipated return to Chicago in collaboration with Soul in The Horn for another can’t-miss exclusive event.
Rolling Stone is bringing the chill to the Dog Days of Summer with its anticipated return to Chicago and teaming up with New York’s iconic Soul in The Horn party. As part of its eleventh appearance in The Chi, on Aug. 5, Rolling Stone Live: Chicago will give fans another can’t-miss event during the Windy City’s most legendary and talked about music festivals of the year. Taking place at the Virgin Hotel’s rooftop, attendees will treat their eyes to breathtaking views of The Second City’s skyline while indulging in specialty cocktails and fantastic music that Soul in The Horn is known for.
What started as a Friday night staple in New York City a few years ago, thanks to the collaborative pairing of music curator DProsper and DJ Natasha Diggs, spread outside the five boroughs to worldwide status. Not only will Diggs set the tone by providing the tunes that made the world-renowned “45 Queen” a certified “vibration shifter,” her fellow Brooklyn-based DJ, L3NI, will also touch the wheels of steel and will surely uplift and liberate the Rolling Stone Live crowd. Headlining this magical night will be trumpet sensation and Chicago native Maurice “Mobetta” Brown, whose Hip to Bop sound had him working with the likes of Aretha Franklin, De La Soul, Prodigy from Mobb Deep, The Roots, Anderson .Paak, and Dave Chappelle.
“We are excited to be back in Chicago for our 11th annual summer show,” gushed Rolling Stone Publisher Brian Szejka. “We’re bringing an incredible new format to one of our oldest signature events. Adding Soul in The Horn’s Iconic parties is the perfect way to celebrate the festival weekend.”
