Following Lu’s brilliant 10 Female Producers Redefining the Future of Electronic Music piece that went live, I wanted to pay homage to one of my favourite melodic house / electronica producers in recent years – UK’s TSHA (real name Teisha Matthews) who we’ve had the pleasure of covering before.

“Giving Up” featuring fellow UK producer Mafro (and partner in TSHA’s life)is one of the latest single the artist dropped earlier this summer. If you dig BICEP, Burial or Four Tet, you’ll fall in love with the intensity, yet warmth of the tune. Such a good rave tune!

…it was written in lockdown whilst we had little space to breathe. We were sharing a studio at the time so when I started working on it he jumped in and this was the result. Despite everything that was going on around us, we were still able to create this meaningful track together.” shares the producer on social media.

The song will be on her upcoming debut album Capricorn Sun, scheduled for released on October 7th via Ninja Tune. +1 reason to be excited for what’s ahead of her!

Interesting fact I learnt from one of her recent MixMag features – the producer took a degree in Urban Dance in London, but eventually she focused on producing and DJ-ing especially after being featured on Bonobo’s fabric Presents back in 2018 alongside other artists I’ve grown to love like O’Flynn and Durante.
