Russian electronic musician and producer Sasha Levchenko aka CH40 has announced the release of a new EP which is out on February 22nd via Jujuka. According to the press release, It is inspired by Werner Herzog’s documentary film – “Into the Inferno”. Comparing himself to a volcanologist, deeply exploring different styles and genres he calls “magmatic sound”.
It demonstrates his rich spectrum of music production as he immerses himself in stillness and a state of absence of meaning. In this emptiness, some sounds emerge, which the composer imagines sound as a magma in which an enormous unrestrained energy is contained. Every track has its own mood and direction from hardcore to dub, from hypnotic polyrhythm to UK techno, high energy record with extreme dynamics and groove.
