Upstream is the new film by the writer Robert Macfarlane and the director Rob Petit. According to the press release, Made over the course of three years and six challenging expeditions, Upstream is filmed entirely from the air and follows the upper course of the River Dee in Scotland, from its floodplains near Braemar back to its source on the summit plateau of the Cairngorm mountains –– the highest spring-site of any river in Britain

It is narrated by the Oscar-nominated singer Julie Fowlis and the original score was composed by German composer and pianist Hauschka. The soundtrack will be released via Sonic Pieces on March 19th, 2021.
