Snowdrops is the French-based duo of Mathieu Gabry and Christine Ott (Yann Tiersen, Tindersticks, Foudre !…).The duo draw from a unique combination of contemporary classical, jazz, electronic music and film score, and spent the first few years of their partnership composing essentially to picture. We introduced them with Manta Ray (Gizeh Records), the soundtrack they composed for Phuttiphong Aroonpheng’s film of the same name, which has won several awards including Best Film in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival.

Now they have released the first full-length which features virtuosic viola player Anne Irène- Kempf. Volutes is out now via Injazero Records. According to the press release, it is an eloquent miniature symphony of strings, piano and the notoriously challenging Ondes Martenot instrument.
