In many ways “Journal” paints a picture of a luminous sunrise by virtue of the feelings of hope and elation we’re welcomed to throughout its dazzling progression.
Polar Inc. exhibits his melodic dexterity as the melody he’s opted for is the kind that is bound to stick in your head for hours on end. The textures ornamented in the backdrop dare not escape your attention though as they marvelously fill up the stereo field along with the serene pads. Towards the closing moments, the string section invokes a range of emotions and this is accentuated by these subtle hums peppered in every now and then.
