David Hoskins’ (or the Man with Roses) new track “Copacetic” is an audible elixir best enjoyed in the evening.

The track sounds like a symphonic, free-flowing conversation between multiple instruments. It starts off with gentle keys which soon turn into a dialogue with the colorful drum beat. A funky trumpet joins in throughout, as to respectfully interrupt with some objectivity. These three elements ebb and flow during the track and at the end, only the drums are left, almost as to give the final word of the exchange.

You can detect a bit of a decreased resolution here, creating that analog fuzz that is so signature to lofi and gives this track its coziness.

“Copacetic,” contrary to its title, is so much more than just satisfactory. It’s a beautifully crafted, dreamy piece that mesmerizes you from the first chord.
