John Bence is a musician, producer and composer from Bristol. Following the private press release of Bence’s sepulchral symphony Kill on Yves Tumor’s Grooming label, he has announced the release of a new album called Love which will be out on November 13th via Thrill Jockey. It explores Bence’s struggles with addiction and subsequent journey to recovery in stark honesty.
According to the press release, Returning to his first love, the piano, Bence explores the instrument’s deeply emotional qualities in ten movements. Love’s stark minimalism and raw production reflect the composer’s personal struggles with striking honesty, searching for the deeper meaning in human suffering.
